Anthony Kim will return at LIV Golf Jeddah, according to Greg Norman

Anthony Kim hasn’t played professional golf in 12 years. The last of his three PGA Tour wins came 13 years ago. He once beat Sergio Garcia in singles in the Ryder Cup 15 years ago and then famously walked to the next hole before being called back.

And in the 2009 Masters, he made 11 birdies in the second round, still a single-round record for that event. He shot 65. He was touted as the next Tiger Woods in the very era of Tiger, but at the age of 26, due to injuries, he stepped out of the limelight.

According to a social media post by LIV Golf Commissioner Greg Norman on Monday, however, Kim is likely to be in the field when LIV Golf Jeddah begins on March 1.

He oozes incredible talent. The world has seen it in the past and now it is an honour as Commissioner of LIV Golf to give the opportunity for this star to be reborn. Welcome back and to the LIV Golf family mate. The golf world has missed you. — Greg Norman

With LIV Golf’s new format including two wild card players, it opened the door for Kim. Each event in 2024 will have 54 players (13 teams of four players each) as well as the two wild cards, who will earn points in the individual standings with the potential to earn a spot on a LIV Golf team down the line.
