The sand wedge putt became popular back in the 70’s after Lee Trevino popularized its use. Today, many players use the sand wedge putt, but golf beginners and amateurs find the wedge intimidating. The sand wedge is one of the most straightforward clubs to pull of which is why it is an excellent addition to every player’s golf equipment. The wedge is handy when the ball goes to the edge of the greens or lands on a light rough. It also comes in handy when you have sitting on the edge of a fringe or backup against a lie of a rough.
